Cecil and Jax did the ID of our 1 br+study condo, and we are really happy with the results!! Despite the P2HA lockdown and limited personnel allowed for reno (only 2 on site), the Maker’s team were still able to deliver the project on time! This whole project, from design to finish, lasted around 3 months. The design ideas, workmanship, and service quality were outstanding. We were really lucky to have found Cecil and Jax as their design ideas were both practical and aesthetically pleasing :) Highly recommended!

I engaged Jax Ong from The Makers Design Studio for the renovation work of my flat from June to Sep 2022. Jax is very professional and helpful. He is always well-prepared for our meetings and responsive to our enquiries. Jax also proposed solutions to meet our needs, especially the design of kitchen, partitioned study room, bathrooms, master bedroom and kids room. The workmanship is satisfactory. When changes and rectifications were needed, Jax responded promptly to arrange contractors and supervise the works whenever possible. We decided to engage Cecil and Jax as they were very responsive to our queries and offered some good ideas and suggestions for the style and designs we had in mind, while being open-minded and good listeners to how we would like certain things to be done. We also felt taken care of as Cecil and Jax as they accompanied us to Hafary for the tile selection and showed a good sense of taste, whereas the 3D renderings are very well done and definitely helped guide the subcontractors later on. Management of the timeline was also good and work started promptly and according to schedule. Most importantly, Cecil and Jax was quick to respond to reminders and instances where mistakes have been made, and were not defensive at all and showed willingness to recitify things that the subcontractor overlooked or did differently according to what was discussed (these mistakes were few). Overall, Jax was very on the ball and come down to the worksite frequently to check and Whatsapp me on the spot to confirm before executing the works, which I appreciated. Any thing that was missed out, the subcons also made extra trips down to rectify, showing that they good relationship with the subcons. Works-wise, we were most pleased with the tiling, followed by the electricals and carpentry, although there were 1-2 hiccups with the glass work in particular. I am happy to recommend Cecil and Jax especially if you value a responsive and sincere ID who treats customers well and with respect :)

It was great partnering with ID Jax and his team on my renovation journey. Jax is very prompt in responding to my enquires and he kept a great tab on the project timeline and budget. Jax is always willing to listen and provide suggestions to incorporate creative design ideas and explore alternatives. Engaged Ian for our renovation works from April to June 2023. He has excellent project management of my renovation - completing early within the projected time without delays. Very prompt replies on WhatsApp, attentive to my queries and dedication to finding out if the things I wanted could be done or will counter propose. Quality of workmanship is decent with no issues in rectifying any post-Reno issues. All in all, positive experience with them as my ID.

After a long consideration and meeting more than 8 different IDs, decided to go for Cecil and Vincent for our first home. Cecil proposed many different ideas that was not cookie cutter ideas from other IDs, as we did not have much space in our 3room BTO to work with and tailored for our needs. I also got many items from Taobao, and she would give recommendations on the Color and design to buy. As we are two busy working parents, we had decided to go with an ID from the get go as we did not have the extra time to supervise the renovation. Experience with them was very fuss free and works were completed without much hiccups. Vincent is very hands on in visiting the site, and he would supervise every detail. Like most first-time home owners, i went through the motions of meeting a few ID companies before making my final decision to go with The Makers Design Studio. Though they may not be the cheapest in the market but they definitely delivered above and beyond. My ID, Jax was assigned to my project which was a really small 2 room flexi (47sqft) unit. He did a brilliant job in planning out useable space with ideas on how to maximize storage space in particular. This was the deciding factor for me as most of the other designers i have consulted either dismissed my ideas or disregarded the colour scheme/theme that i preferred. Replies from Jax are always prompt and he goes out of his way to help in coordinating with contractors and vendors. This extended to assistance even post-renovation which is greatly appreciated for individuals with a busy work schedule. He has a good rapport with his vendors which made the progress quicker. A huge thank you to Jax and his team for making my dream home be a reality! And hoping to engaging them again if i ever purchase the next new home.

The whole reno journey started from April 2023 when I started sourcing for ID firms to take up this project. The initial proposal from Jax made me decided to take on my reno journey with The Makers Design Studio. Jax is patient in addressing my concerns and is able to work around my budget. His quotes are also very detailed and this reduces the need of adding on additional items along the way. When the renovation officially started on 28 Jun, Jax took on the main role of coordinating the schedule of all the contractors including those of my own contact, which he will also make time to meet them to ensure everyone is on the same page. His commitments make it possible to see that most of the work are completed nicely within the schedule. Last of all, during defects checking, he is also around to help detect some of these defects and ensure that the contractors rectify them within a few days. I'm glad that I made the choice of engaging The Makers Design Studio and grateful for Jax's hard work and patience along the way.

Cecil was the designer for our humble abode. She has great design sense and knowing us prefer practical design, she was able to cater accordingly without forgetting to add some aesthetic touch. Also, she is quick at following up on issues that came up both during and post renovation. This can be shown from this review which I'm leaving one year after renovation completion and she still never fail to provide us suggestion for our inquiries.

He will regular updates on the site's progress were invaluable during the renovation period, keeping me informed at all times. Very prompt replies on Whatsapp whenever I have queries. Jax is very respectful of our preferred theme/style and genuinely listens to our needs and wants when building our own home. His sharing based on his experiences and knowledge definitely helped us make informed choices that will suit our lifestyle better. During the whole reno process, he was very prompt in responding to our questions and is very on point with his follow ups like tiles choosing/materials choosing etc. He also constantly kept us updated with the reno timeline and the progress, and is very hands on with what is happening on site, which made us feel very safe to have our project in his hands! I engaged Cecil because I fall in love at first sight with one of her previous projects, showcased on Qanvast. And she really did not disappoint me. I am glad to have Cecil and Vincent to create my new home, it was a great experience working with both. Cecil had proven her professionalism and her experience. She not only having great design sense, but also great practical design. She even goes beyond her job scope by offering help to buy things from Taobao and give recommendation on the shape and size to get. Vincent had done a great job in liaising with varies contractor, and ensuring everything is done properly at the site. He also constantly update the schedule and status of the renovation.
